I've been trying to get away from having too many dupes in my shop and becoming more creative with original blends. Black Raspberry Vanilla, however, is one that I don't think I'll ever stop making. It's not a best seller or anything, but I just love the scent.
Not too sweet with just the perfect amount of tartness. Love it.
So, I mentioned in my last post that I'd found away to anchor my neon pigments better in my soap. For this batch, I started with my neon purple, then added Ultramarine Violet and a bit of activated charcoal. Instead of a super bright neon purple this gave me a beautiful, solid purple. That's all I ever wanted, lol. A solid purple in CP soap. Now, if only I could get a red...
Normally, I really plan out the look of a soap right down to the swirls. All I cared about this time was the color. I just poured the colors in at random and pulled a wire hanger through in no particular pattern. Believe me when I tell you, that's a BIG deal for me! I like plan and control the outcome of my swirls. It was a little (just a little) nice to just let go a bit this time.
Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI've been chasing for this purple for a while, but.... no such outcome yet! And, I don't have an option of buying this neon purple!
I know it can be frustratingly difficult to get these true colors in CP soap. Try adding a bit of black oxide or charcoal to your purple. It may not come out quite as bright, but it will give a better purple than ultramarine on its own.
DeleteLove it! Black Raspberry Vanilla is my husband's favorite scent in soap, and one of my favorites as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always!

Just stunning! The colors, those swirls...swoon!
ReplyDeleteWow, Kia, those swirls look great! I love purple and black together. I have heard wonderful things about the Black Raspberry Vanilla FO - I will have to try it someday! It sounds like it doesn't discolor, too, which surprised me since "vanilla" is right there in the name! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat absolutely stunning swirls and colors. It's like it just jumped of the screen. =)
ReplyDeletewaouh I love it !!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried red # 30 lake dye?
